Report: European giant ‘very serious’ in their pursuit of Spurs-linked winger

ESPN journalist Moises Llorens has said that Barcelona’s interest in rumoured Tottenham target Adama Traore is ‘very serious’.

Last week, it seemed like only a matter of time until Traore’s move to Tottenham would be confirmed after reports claimed that Spurs had agreed on a fee with Wolves for the winger (Football Insider).

However, over recent days, it has emerged that the transfer is far from certain and that there is still a significant gap in the two club’s valuations of the Spaniard (The Athletic).

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold even said on his YouTube channel on Wednesday that as things stand, Spurs are more confident of completing a deal for Porto winger Luis Diaz than they are of securing Traore.

Spanish journalist Matteo Moretto subsequently revealed that the Wolves winger is stalling on the move to North London as he is aware of Barcelona’s interest in signing him.

This has now been backed up by Llorens, who took to social media to reveal that the Catalan giants are seriously considering a move for Traore.

He added that Barca’s pursuit of the 25-year-old might depend on what happens to the future of Osama Dembele.

The Traore move falling through in the last moment would be a disaster for Spurs. Unless Paratici has alternatives lined up, one would expect Tottenham to budge and eventually pay the fee that Wolves are demanding.
