Report: European giants could look to poach Fabio Paratici from Spurs

According to Foot Mercato, Paris Saint-Germain could look to replace their sporting director Leonardo with Fabio Paratici.

Paratici was appointed as Tottenham’s managing director of football in the summer, with Daniel Levy taking a step back from footballing decisions.

The Italian played an important part in bringing Antonio Conte to Spurs (Fabrizio Romano) but he has had some hits and misses in the transfer market at Tottenham so far.

Foot Mercato have now revealed that Paratici was not too happy with Conte’s recent comments about Tottenham’s January business to Sky Sport Italia.

It is alleged that the Spurs managing director of football would be ready to listen to an approach by PSG.

The report claims that Leanardo’s future in Paris is uncertain, with the Brazilian’s relationship with PSG’s ownership becoming ‘strained’ over recent months.

However, it is explained that the Ligue 1 giants’ number one target to replace Leanordo is not Paratici but former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Given that Paratici was handed the reins at Spurs just last summer, one would hope that he would not think about abandoning the project so soon. While the Italian might not have covered himself in glory in the transfer market so far, like Conte, he deserves time to rebuild the squad.
