Report: European giants enter race for full back already targeted by Spurs

According to a report in The Sun, Spurs now have some serious competition in their quest to land West Bromwich Albion full-back Nathan Ferguson as several European giants are also said to be eyeing the youngster.

The report claims that AC Milan, Marseille, and Hamburg all sents scouts to watch the 19-year-old in action during West Brom’s match against Wigan last Wednesday.

Milan, in particular, are said to be keen on landing Ferguson and could make a bid for him in January.

The report also confirms that the youngster’s contract with the Baggies will run out at the end of the current campaign and that he is free to agree on terms with other clubs from January.

While West Brom will be hoping to hold on to the young right back in order to aid their promotion bid this season, the Championship club could be helpless to stop the teenager from leaving if he doesn’t sign a new deal.

Spurs Web Opinion

Full back is clearly one of our weakest areas and so it makes sense to be prioritizing the position in January. Ferguson certainly fits the profile of a Spurs signing as he is young, has bags of potential and his contract situation means he will not be expensive. However, with the 19-year-old attracting so much interest, it looks like the Lilywhites will have a battle on their hands if they wish to land him.
