Report: European giants in discussions with long-term Tottenham target

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso even before the North London side played in the Champions League final against Liverpool (BBC).

The 23-year-old’s contract with the Spanish side contains an £88 million transfer release clause with Betis holding out for an amount near to this valuation.

Lo Celso has reportedly told Betis that he wants to make the move to North London but transfer has failed to materialise (The Sun).

German journalist Christian Falk, who is the head of football at Bild has claimed that Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have now entered the race for the Argentina international.

Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben have both departed Bayern since the end last season which has left the Bundesliga champions somewhat sort of options in the final third of the pitch.

Lo Celso scored 16 goals and provided six assists in 45 games for Betis last season (BBC) which has made some of the top European clubs including Spurs and Bayern sit up and take notice.
