Report: European giants interested in Spurs academy wonderkid

According to a report in Calciomercato, Juventus are closely monitoring young Tottenham striker Troy Parrott. The report claims that the Italian giants will continue to follow his progress for the rest of the season before deciding whether or not to bid for him.

Parrott is one of the most highly-rated youngsters at Spurs and his goalscoring record for the youth sides last season was extremely impressive. The Irishman was part of the squad for the club’s pre-season tour and didn’t look out of place at all with the likes of Kane, Eriksen, Son, and Alli.

He reportedly came to Juventus’ attention after scoring five goals in his three matches in the UEFA Youth League including four against Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday.

While the 17-year-old’s only first-team appearance came in the Carabao Cup recently, Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy has already hinted at the possibility of Parrott being handed a senior cap for his nation in the friendly against New Zealand next month (FAI website).

Spurs Web Opinion

It is clear that Parrott is rated highly by the coaching staff at Spurs. He has been in and around the first team and has even been named in the Champions League squad despite being just 17 years of age. So, it is unlikely that the club will entertain any offer for Parrott from Juventus or anyone else.
