Report: European giants make contact with Spurs star only for Mourinho to close exit door

Speculation surrounding the future of Tanguy Ndombele at Tottenham Hotspur continues to make headlines with reports from Spain on Wednesday claiming that Barcelona have already made contact with the midfielder’s entourage.

L’Equipe reported on Saturday that Ndombele was considering his future at Spurs due to his strained relationship with Jose Mourinho and that he was open to a move to Barcelona.

Sport (via by Sport Witness) claimed on Tuesday that the Catalans liked the profile of the Spurs star and believed that their French contingent might convince the 23-year-old to join the La Liga giants.

The same publication (as relayed by Sport Witness) provided another update on the transfer saga on Wednesday and it appears to be good news for Tottenham.

They claim that Barcelona have contacted the former Lyon star’s representatives over the possibility of either a loan move or a permanent transfer this summer.

However, Spurs are said to have completely dismissed their approach and it is claimed that Mourinho has no desire to sell the midfielder.

The report asserts the Spurs boss believes that Ndombele is still adapting to the Premier League and could hit another level next season.

This is consistent with most of the reports coming out of the club. Jose genuinely seems to have invested his time and effort to do all he cant to turn Ndombele’s fortunes at Spurs around. He certainly wouldn’t have wanted to have a one-on-one training session with the Frenchman if he was planning to move him on.
