Report: European giants make Pochettino their main summer target

Mauricio Pochettino has been linked heavily with the Manchester United and Real Madrid jobs over the last few months, but after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed on a full-time basis by the Red Devils, and Zinedine Zidane returned to Real Madrid, it is highly expected that Pochettino will remain at Spurs.

However, according to a report in Italian publication Corriere della Sera (via TEAMtalk), Italian giants AC Milan have now made Pochettino their prime target.

Milan have had a mixed season and are currently fighting for Champions League qualification. If the Rossoneri fail to qualify for Europe’s premier club competition, it is suggested that Gennaro Gattuso will be relieved of his duties.

Milan are reportedly the subject of a potential takeover from the Qatar Investment Authority group – who own PSG, and the report claims that the new owners want to make a statement by landing Pochettino.

However, the Argentine is highly unlikely to switch Spurs for Milan particularly considering that Tottenham have just moved into a new stadium, and are expected to spend big in the summer if reports are to be believed.
