Report: European giants may attempt to hijack Tottenham’s Radu Dragusin deal

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has revealed that Bayern Munich have now made advances to sign Tottenham target Radu Dragusin.

Until Sunday, it seemed like Dragusin’s move to Spurs was on track, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the North London club had ‘positive contacts’ with Genoa over the weekend and were hopeful of sealing the deal this week.

However, Spurs’ efforts to sign the 21-year-old might have just got harder, with Plettenberg revealing this morning that the Bayern hierarchy have discussed a move for the Romanian.

Plettenberg then provided a more comprehensive update on the matter just an hour later, explaining that the Bavarian giants have reached out to Dragusin’s camp regarding a switch to Bavaria.

The journalist stated that the centre-back is expected to cost €25m (£21.5m) plus bonuses but he added that Tottenham and Napoli remain more concrete options for the player at this stage.

Bayern’s interest in Dragusin could affect Spurs in more ways than one, with some outlets over the last couple of days also backing the Bundesliga giants to make a move for Eric Dier (Football Insider).

This is always the danger of playing the waiting game in an effort to save a few million as other clubs could sense an opportunity to hijack the deal.

One would hope that the negotiations between Tottenham and Genoa are advanced enough for the deal to be concluded swiftly and that the 21-year-old already has his heart set on a move to North London.
