Report: European giants ready to launch Eriksen bid

According to a report by Calciomercato (via the paper edition of Corriere dello Sport), Juventus are now ready to launch a bid for Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen.

The report claims that new Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri is ready to launch a move for the Dane as soon as the club offloads both Blaise Matuidi and Sami Khedira.

It is suggested that the former Chelsea boss is keen to add some creativity to his midfield and has identified the Spurs midfielder as the perfect candidate.

Eriksen’s future at the club has been the subject of a lot of speculation this summer after the 27-year-old admitted earlier that he is keen to try a new challenge (Ekstra Bladet).

However, it looked like the Danish international might end up staying at the club after Real Madrid withdrew their interest in him (Sport Witness via Mundo Deportivo).

AS previously reported that the playmaker, who has one year left on his contract with Spurs, will cost between €60m and €70m.

If Tottenham are going to get Giovani Lo Celso in before the close of the transfer window, then there will be too many options in midfield. It is thus likely that Eriksen will leave if Lo Celso is to arrive.

Spurs fans will be hoping that Juve’s reported interest in Eriksen might help Tottenham in their pursuit of Paulo Dybala.
