Report: European giants ready to offer two players to Spurs in a part-exchange deal

Barcelona are ready to offer Samuel Umtiti and Nelson Semedo to Tottenham in a part-exchange deal in order to take Tanguy Ndombele to the Camp Nou, Sky Sports have revealed.

Ndombele has had a disappointing first season in North London but reports indicate that Jose Mourinho is determined to get the best out of the midfielder next season (Mirror).

However, Sky Sports now claim that the Catalans want to add physicality to their midfield and have identified the Spurs star as an ideal target.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, it is said that they cannot afford to buy him outright and so have offered the Lilywhites the chance to sign Umtiti and Semedo, both of whom are surplus to requirements at Barcelona.

The report asserts that it is actually Barcelona midfielder Arthur Melo that Spurs hold an interest in, adding that it is unclear as of now whether Spurs want either Umtiti or Semedo.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Barcelona were willing to offer Arthur in exchange for Ndombele, I would be seriously tempted to accept the offer, especially given the Frenchman’s fitness struggles. However, I don’t think Umtiti is the answer to our problems at the back while Semedo won’t be much of an upgrade on Aurier.
