Report: European giants ready to part with £30m to sign Spurs player

According to a report in the Sunday Times, Italian giants Juventus have identified Tottenham Hotspur full-back Kieran Trippier as the man to replace Joao Cancelo if the Portuguese international leaves the club this summer.

Cancelo, who made 22 appearances for Juventus last season, is close to a move to Manchester City according to a report in Calciomercato. However, it remains to be seen whether former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri will have a different opinion on transfers after being appointed as manager of the Serie A giants earlier today.

It is claimed that Juventus are willing to pay £30m for Trippier’s services this summer. The England international has struggled for the lilywhites this season, making several errors that have ended up costing the side dearly.

Trippier himself admitted after the Champions League final that his performances this season left a lot to be desired (Sky Sports).

It has been previously reported that Tottenham are willing to listen to offers for both Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier, with Pochettino looking to recruit a new right back before the start of the season (The Sun).

Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Norwich City’s Max Aarons are among the names that have been linked with the club.

This is a move that will benefit all three parties as Trippier desperately needs a new challenge and the Italian league will suit his style of play.

Tottenham have missed the energy and dynamism that Kyle Walker used to provide for the last couple of years, and so it would be ideal if the club manages to sign someone like Wan-Bissaka who has the energy to get up and down the pitch for the entire game.
