Report: European giants ready to seal €30m deal for Spurs star in January

According to Calciomercato (as relayed by TEAMtalk), after much deliberation, Real Madrid have decided to push ahead with a deal for Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen in the January transfer window.

The report claims that the Madrid board have decided to accelerate negotiations so that they can land the Danish international as soon as the winter window reopens.

It is claimed that they are willing to offer €25-30m for Eriksen and believe that will be enough since his contract with Tottenham runs out next summer.

However, as we covered earlier, the Los Blancos reportedly face competition for the 27-year as Inter Milan are also keen on landing him in January (Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness).

It is claimed that the Serie A giants are willing to offer Eriksen a five-year contract and a deal worth €9m a year in order to tempt him to Milan.

However, with Madrid now reportedly deciding to go ahead with their pursuit, one would think the former Ajax man is likely to go to the Spanish capital given that he has previously expressed his desire to join Los Blancos (Ekstra Bladet).

This saga has been dragging on for way too long and has clearly affected Eriksen’s performance levels. It will be best if he finally moves on in January so that his career can get a new lease of life. If a deal looks like it will be agreed, it would be best if Pochettino doesn’t play him until he leaves.
