Report: European giants regret allowing 24-year-old to join Tottenham

Bernabeu Digital have claimed that Real Madrid are growing increasingly despondent that they did not sign Pedro Porro from Sporting Lisbon when they had the opportunity to do so.

While Porro had a rough start at Tottenham, the Spaniard has come on leaps and bounds over the last few months, having registered six assists in the Premier League so far this season.

He is quickly emerging as one of the best right-backs in the English top flight, which is why Real Madrid are seemingly ruing the fact that they did not go for him.

Real Madrid chose against move for Pedro Porro

Bernabeu Digital explain that Los Blancos were keen on signing Porro from Sporting prior to his switch to Spurs and they could have secured him for €40m (£34.3m) at one point.

However, the La Liga club’s board decided to keep faith with Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vázquez instead, thus allowing Spurs to swoop for Porro.

The publication adds that the Spain international is now emerging as ‘one of the best right-backs in the world’ and suggests that any hopes Real Madrid had of signing him are now ‘a thing of the past’.

Spurs Web Opinion

Porro’s performances have gone a bit under the radar this season, perhaps due to the fact that Udogie has taken most of the limelight after hitting the ground running at Tottenham but the Spaniard has been exceptional and is seemingly getting better with every game.
