Report: European giants set to battle it out for Spurs star

Christian Eriksen is attracting interest from both Juventus and Real Madrid ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.

Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport claim that Juventus are set to rival the Spanish giants in order to land the Danish international.

Eriksen wasted no time in the summer when he revealed just days after Tottenham’s Champions League final defeat to Liverpool that he wanted to seek a new challenge away from North London whilst inviting contact from Madrid (Ekstra Bladet).

The 27-year-old is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and can initiate talks with European clubs in January ahead of a pre-contract agreement which would see him walk away from Spurs on a free transfer next summer.

Eriksen was named among the substitutes for Jose Mourinho’s first game in charge of Spurs when they beat West Ham United on Saturday.

The Portuguese has already warned Eriksen that he will pick his team with the future in mind (The Sun).
