Report: European giants set to tie up deal for rumoured Spurs target

Tottenham Hotspur appear to have been pipped by Juventus to Atalanta midfielder Dejan Kuluseveski, as one report alleges he is set to sign for the Italian club.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Juventus are now frontrunners to sign the midfielder in the summer after offering €35 million (£30 million), plus €9 million (£7.5 million) in add-ons, more than Inter Milan offered.

Spurs were said to be interested in the Swedish international (Tuttosport), with North London rivals Arsenal and Liverpool also in the running.

The 19-year-old has earned comparison to Kevin De Bruyne after impressing on loan at Parma, scoring four goals and earning seven assists. (Transfermarkt)

Spurs fans will be eager for the club to be active throughout the January transfer window, especially in the midfield area.

Tanguy Ndombele suffered another injury in yesterday’s defeat against Southampton with summer recruit Giovani Lo Celso struggling to perform in his recent displays.

Kuluseveski is expected to be confirmed as a Juventus player in the coming days following the opening of the transfer window after agreeing personal terms (The Sun).

Spurs Web Opinions

The midfield area needs to be strengthened in January, especially if Tanguy Ndombele has suffered another injury. Spurs are leaking goals at the back, but we are also being dominated in the middle of the park. Spurs need a central midfielder who can protect the back-four and control the tempo of the game. I believe Lille’s Boubakary Soumaré is the player Spurs must target this window.
