Report: European giants willing to sell player Mourinho wanted in Janaury

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid are ready to sell rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Eder Militao in the summer as they look to reshape their squad.

Militao has not lived up to expectations at Real Madrid following his big-money move from Porto and has largely been on the periphery of the squad this season.

Multiple sources in January revealed that Spurs were interested in snapping up the Brazilian, with AS revealing that Jose Mourinho is a fan of the centre-back.

Fabrizio Romano also claimed that the North London club made a genuine attempt to sign the 23-year-old on loan but Madrid pulled the plug on the deal.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham will go back in for Militao in the summer but Defensa Central now report that he is on his way out of the Santiago Bernabeau, with the Spanish giants set to go after the likes of Pau Torres, Jules Kounde and David Alaba.

According to the report, Sergio Ramos, who is also rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, could also leave Real Madrid in the summer as there has been no breakthrough in the negotiations for a new contract.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Ramos is available as a free agent in the summer, then I would prefer us to sign him over Militao. Even though the Spaniard is now 34, his leadership qualities and experience would make him an invaluable addition to our backline.

Militao would be a risky signing as he has flattered to deceive at Madrid but the Brazilian does fit the profile of players Spurs generally go for, given his age and potential resale value.
