Report: European heavyweight plan to enter talks with Spurs over January transfer

Tottenham Hotspur playmaker, Christian Eriksen, has well under one year remaining on his current contract in North London.

This means that, unless Eriksen signs a new deal in the next few months, he will be free to talk to non-English clubs about a free transfer in the summer of 2020.

While Spurs probably do not want to lose any of their star players at all, it will be a nightmare for Daniel Levy if he doesn’t even receive a penny for a star of Eriksen’s quality.

Marca have now reported that Eriksen is a serious option for Real Madrid in the new year, with the Spanish heavyweights said to be planning on entering talks with Tottenham over a deal.

Eriksen has apparently made it clear to Spurs that he wants to leave at the end of the season and Real do not want to miss out on the chance to secure his signature.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Sell him for whatever you can get, Levy. His head doesn’t look to be in Tottenham at the moment and there is no point keeping him for the second half of the season when he’s in that state. Better to take the money and reinvest it.
