Report: Everton expected to ramp up pursuit of £15m-rated Spurs player

Everton are now expected to ramp up their interest in Harry Winks, with the midfielder being left out of Tottenham’s pre-season tour (Mirror).

It is explained Spurs have informed the 26-year-old he will be transfer-listed for a fee of £15 million with the Toffees now likely to accelerate their pursuit of the midfielder, who has been a target of the club long before Frank Lampard’s appointment.

Winks has been linked with Everton across the summer with Lampard reportedly identifying him as a suitable midfield option ahead of the new season (Liverpool Echo).

Capped on 10 occasions by England, Winks himself has signalled his desire to leave boyhood club Tottenham this summer (Evening Standard) after struggling to work his way into Antonio Conte’s plans last season.

He made just nine starts in the Premier League last season (Transfermarkt) with Conte often preferring the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur and Oliver Skipp when available.

Winks’ future was plunged further into doubt recently after being one of four senior players to be omitted from the travelling Spurs squad for their pre-season tour of South Korea.

Conte’s recent decision to leave Winks out of the pre-season squad shows where he is in his thoughts ahead of the new season and it could hint an exit is on the horizon.

Spurs have dealt with Everton already this summer with the Richarlison transfer, so they could very well come together again to work out some kind of deal to send Winks the other way.
