Report: Everton eyeing summer move for midfielder wanted by Spurs

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is extremely keen on signing Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson, who is also wanted by Spurs, according to a report in the Express.

Spurs were first linked with a move for Samson more than a year ago with by Europe Mercato who claimed that the midfielder was valued at £18million by the Ligue 1 side.

The report in the Express reveals that apart from Spurs, the likes of West Ham, Manchester United, Southampton, and Everton are all keen on landing the 25-year-old.

It is asserted that it is Everton who are the most likely to make a move, with Ancelotti reportedly having wanted to sign Sanson since he was in charge of Italian outfit Napoli.

The report alleges that the Frenchman has an agreement with the Marseille board that he would be allowed to leave in the summer. It is also claimed that the Toffees believe they can take advantage of that to bring him to the Premier League.

Spurs Web Opinion

With the addition of Gedson Fernandes last month, we are fairly well stocked in terms of central midfielders particularly when Moussa Sissoko returns from injury. So, I am not sure central midfield needs to be our priority in the summer as there are other areas of the squad that are in more desperate need of reinforcements.
