Report: Everton have Spurs midfielder on their list of transfer targets

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks is attracting interest from Everton, according to The Telegraph.

The England international has been told he can depart north London this summer having fallen down the pecking order at the club he has progressed through the ranks and supported as a boy.

Winks only started nine Premier League matches last season with Antonio Conte preferring to select a midfield pairing of either Rodrigo Bentancur, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg or Oliver Skipp (transfermarkt).

Toffees boss Frank Lampard is reported to be keen to add a new midfielder to his ranks this summer after narrowly escaping relegation last season.

The Toffees are also interested in Chelsea’s Connor Gallagher, who impressed during the last campaign on loan at Crystal Palace but he is expected to be given a chance during Thomas Tuchel’s pre-season.

Everton are said to be most likely to want to bring Winks, who is valued at around £20million by Spurs to Goodison Park on loan ahead of a potential permanent switch.

Winks has two years left to run on his contract at Tottenham and the club needs to think twice about a loan deal without an obligation to buy.

If Spurs can recoup anywhere close to their £20million valuation, it will generate some additional funds for Antonio Conte to re-invest into new transfer targets to hopefully help the club to end their fourteen-year wait for silverware.
