Report: Everton in pole position to sign player linked with Spurs

Everton have been installed as the favourites to beat Spurs to Roma winger Cengiz Under.

Under is reportedly a long-term target for Tottenham having said have been on the club’s radar before he completed his move to Italy in 2017 (Ajansspor).

Spurs were also linked with a move for the 22-year-old last summer (Turkish Football) after Under enjoyed an impressive first season at the Stadio Olimpico.

Jose Mourinho is also reportedly a fan of the Turkish international, according to Gunes.

Tuttomercatoweb (as relayed by TBR Football) report that Spurs have rekindled their interest in Under, with the Italian giants said to be considering allowing the young wide-man leave this summer, it is claimed that Everton are in front of the queue for the player, who is purportedly valued at £26.5 million.

The report also suggests that Roma’s asking price could come down due to the impact of the global coronavirus crisis.

Spurs Web Opinion

Under has had a rather poor campaign for Roma this season and so I wouldn’t be surprised if they decide to cut their losses. However, I don’t think we are likely to make a move for him this summer. The only reason our name has been thrown into the mix here is because of our previous interest.
