Report: Everton looking to sign defender Mourinho is a ‘huge fan of’ for just £10m

The Daily Mirror reports that Everton are now ready to make a move for Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot, who Jose Mourinho is said to be a huge fan of.

Mourinho was the man who bought Dalot to Old Trafford from Porto in a £19 million deal in 2018.

However, the full-back has seen his opportunities limited this season after the arrival of Aaron Wan-Bissaka last summer.

The Sun reported a few months ago that Mourinho was keen to be reunited with Dalot in North London and that Spurs were considering making a move for the defender.

The Daily Mirror now reveals that United may cash in on the 21-year-old as they look to raise funds for their transfer targets.

Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly identified the right-back as the long-term replacement for Seamus Coleman at Goodison Park. It is claimed that the Toffees believe they can sign Dalot for a cut-price £10m deal this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Based on recent reports, it does not appear that Dalot is anywhere near the top of our wishlist as far as a new right-back is concerned. The links to the likes of Max Aarons, Zeki Celik and Timothy Castagne seem to have picked up pace recently. We might be in the market for two right-backs, with Serge Aurier also potentially following Kyle Walker-Peters out of the door. If that is the case, I believe Dalot could be a smart addition for £10m, despite him not managing to fulfil his potential at Old Trafford.
