Report: Everton more likely than Spurs to sign World Cup winner

According to a report by football Football Italia, Everton are in pole position to beat Tottenham Hotspur to the signing of Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira.

Khedira’s days in Turin look numbered after has failed to make a single appearance for the Old Lady since Andrea Pirlo took over as head coach.

The World Cup winner told Sky Sports earlier this month that he would be open to a move to the Premier League, having always wanted to play in the English top flight.

He also said admitted that he would find it hard to turn down an opportunity to work with Jose Mourinho or Carlo Ancelotti again, having been managed by both during his time at Real Madrid.

Football Italia claim that Juventus are trying to get the German international’s £130,000-a-week salary off their wage bill and that they could look to sell him to a Premier League club in January.

While the report does mention Tottenham as a potential destination for the 33-year-old, it is said that he is more likely to end up at Goodison Park.
