Report: Everton player ready to snub Spurs for move abroad

Everton midfielder Jonjoe Kenny who is currently on loan at Schalk is said to be desperate to stay at the Bundesliga club, according to the latest reports from Germany.

The full-back has impressed for the Bundesliga side this campaign and has been a regular for the Gelsenkirchen-based outfit having made 26 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal (transfermarkt).

It appears that Kenny’s performances have not gone unnoticed back in England with both Spurs and Arsenal said to be keen on bringing him to London according to the Daily Mail.

Tottenham could be in the market for a right-back as Serge Aurier is the only natural option in the position, especially considering Jose Mourinho’s apparent unwillingness to trust Kyle Walker-Peters, who is currently on loan Southampton.

However, Bild report that Kenny is keen to remain with Schalke next season following the conclusion of his loan spell.

The report suggests that while Schalke also want to sign the England Under-21 defender on a permanent basis, there are question marks over whether they can afford the deal.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham will likely have to be creative in our transfer dealings this summer as our budget would have taken a massive hit as a result of the financial crisis due to the coronavirus shutdown. I believe the club might reconsider the idea of selling Walker-Peters especially if they are unable to sign a decent right-back for a cut-price deal this summer.
