Report: Everton ready to make a move for one of two Spurs stars in January

According to a report by The Daily Mirror, Everton are eyeing a move for either Harry Winks or Dele Alli in the January transfer window.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold claimed last week that Tottenham are unlikely to let Winks leave in January as it could potentially leave Jose Mourinho’s side short of options in midfield in the event of injuries to his other players.

However, Gold claimed that the club may be willing to allow Dele Alli to leave on a loan deal, with The Daily Mail also confirming the same.

The Mirror now suggest that Carlo Ancelotti is an admirer of both players and could look to bring one of the two on loan to Goodison Park next month.

With both players struggling for game time at Tottenham, it is said that the Toffees are hopeful that they could be able to secure a deal for either Winks or Alli.

The report also claims that Paris Saint-Germain will make a loan offer for Alli but that the Spurs star could be tempted by the prospect of staying in the Premier League with Everton.

Spurs Web Opinion

Most of the reports coming out at the moment seem to be suggesting the same – a loan move is on the cards for Dele while Winks is likely to stay put at Spurs. I can understand why Levy would be open to loaning Dele out in January as he is clearly not in Jose Mourinho’s plans and his value will only continue to drop if he spends the rest of the season on the sidelines.

It is looking more and more likely that this could be Winks’ final season for Tottenham. However, I cannot see us being prepared to let him next month unless we could recall Skipp or sign another central midfielder. The 24-year-old could have an important part to play in the next few months given our involvement in multiple competitions.
