Report: Everton set to rival Spurs for 14-goal forward

Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Arkadiusz Milik might have just become a lot more difficult, with Gianluca di Marzio now reporting that Everton have now entered the race for the Napoli striker.

With a week and a half left until the transfer window shuts, Tottenham have still not managed to secure a striker to help take the goalscoring burden off Harry Kane’s shoulders.

Reports indicate that Tottenham are looking at several options and are confident that a striker will be signed before the window shuts (Football.London).

The 26-year-old was rumoured to be their main strike target, with the club reportedly sending representatives to Italy this week to discuss deals for both him and Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar (Calcio Mercato).

However, Gianluca di Marzio now claims that Everton have also registered their interest in the striker over the past few days, with the Toffees ready to push Spurs for the striker’s signature.

The report also suggests that Napoli could potentially extend Milik’s contract and loan him out if they cannot reach an agreement over a permanent transfer for the striker.

The Polish international scored 14 goals in 35 appearances for Napoli in all competitions last season (transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

Napoli are not really in a strong negotiation position on Milik and their asking price will likely drop as we approach the final few days of the transfer window. It appears as if they are still playing hardball but I will not be surprised if we suddenly saw movement in this deal over the next few days.
