Report: Everton to push Spurs all the way for transfer target

One of the areas that Tottenham seem to be prioritising in the transfer window is central midfield.

The club has been linked with several midfielders from across Europe, but the deal that is reported to be most advanced is a move for Andre Gomes, with the Sun claiming that a £26million deal has been agreed between Barcelona and Spurs.

However, the Daily Star now reports that Everton manager Marco Silva is desperate to sign the Portuguese midfielder, who spent the season on loan at Goodison Park, on a permanent transfer this summer.

The report further claims that the Toffees have set aside a budget of £100million this summer, with Gomes claimed to be one of the club’s three main targets.

The former Valencia man has featured 27 times in the Premier League this season for the Merseyside club, and has put in some impressive performances in his first season in England.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Spurs are interested in Gomes, then hopefully Champions League football should be enough to convince him to pick Spurs over Everton.

Whether or not the Barcelona midfielder is capable of getting into Spurs’ strongest team, he will certainly prove a valuable addition to the squad and provide some competition for Harry Winks.
