Report: ‘Everything indicates’ that 26-year-old will leave Spurs in summer – Valued at £20.7m

Colombian publication El Futbolero have revealed that Davinson Sanchez appears destined to leave Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season.

Sanchez has struggled for game time this season, with Antonio Conte even picking Japhet Tanganga at right centre-back on occasion recently over the former Ajax man when Cristian Romero has been unavailable.

El Futbolero now report that the Colombian has had a ‘hard time’ at Spurs since Conte and his coaching staff arrived at the club 16 months ago.

The report adds that while the centre-back has warmed the bench on occasions under previous managers at Spurs, ‘everything has got worse’ for the player since the Italian took over.

The publication remarks that Cristian Romero has ‘erased’ Sanchez’s chances of winning a place in Tottenham’s starting eleven and that the 26-year-old is not part of Conte’s plans.

The Argentine has been immense for Spurs since signing from Atalanta and it appears his understudies are only likely to get minutes during his spells injured on the sidelines.

El Futbolero asserts that ‘everything indicates’ that the centre-back is set to leave Spurs at the end of the season and claims that the North London club value him at $25m (£20.7m).

Sanchez has only played 570 minutes for Spurs in the Premier League all season (TransferMarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

Sanchez will have just 12 months left on his contract in the summer. So, it is pretty clear that Spurs will cash in on him.

His contract situation means that the Lilywhites will not be able to get a big fee for him in the summer.

I would be surprised if the Colombian fetches more than £15m, given how little football he has played over the last two years.

It really depends on what signings Spurs make too. In order to sell Sanchez and loan Tanganga, a new right-sided centre-back would need to be signed.
