Report: Experienced winger prefers move to Spurs over Bundesliga club

Inter Live have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Ivan Perisic and the Croat is keen on the idea of moving to North London.

Perisic’s current contract with Inter runs out at the end of the season and reports emerged last week suggesting that Tottenham have opened talks with the winger.

Inter Live have now provided an update on the 32-year-old’s future ahead of the January transfer window. The report claims that Perisic’s future at the San Siro ‘is more uncertain than ever’ as he continues to stall on signing a new contract.

It is explained that the Nerrazuri would like to tie the former Wolfsburg man down to a new contract due to his impressive form this season but the player is thought to be tempted by a move away, with several foreign clubs showing interest.

Wolfsburg are said to be keen on bringing Perisic back to Germany but it is alleged that the Bundesliga club face competition from Tottenham.

The report claims that the Croatian international would prefer to reunite with Antonio Conte at Spurs over returning to his former stomping ground.

Spurs Web Opinion

While one can argue that Perisic would be a decent squad player due to his experience and versatility, I doubt if there is any truth to Tottenham’s reported interest in the winger.

Fabio Paratici is evidently trying to rebuild the squad for the long-term and the Croat does not fit with the profile of players the Italian has signed so far.
