Report explains how Djed Spence feels about lack of minutes at Spurs

The Athletic have reported that, despite his lack of game time under Antonio Conte this season, Djed Spence is not frustrated with his situation at Tottenham.

It is said that Spence understands he has a lot of room to improve and is willing to work hard in order to reach the standards required of a Premier League side like Spurs.

The report also adds that Conte believes Spence will keep improving as the weeks and months pass, while the right wing-back himself is happy training alongside such top-class players.

This all comes after Conte admitted earlier this year that Spence was a club signing rather than a player he hand-picked himself (TalkSPORT). And that appears obvious when you look at Spence’s time on the pitch this year.

Until this week, when he was handed 20 minutes against former side Nottingham Forest in the League Cup, Spence had been reduced to cameos of a mere minute or two.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Spence just needs to stay patient and wait for his chance. Young players can often dig a hole for themselves by reacting in the wrong way to a lack of minutes. If he keeps working hard, and proving himself in training or on loan, he will get chances because he is 100% a Conte-type player.
