Report explains how much Spurs have offered Conte to sign new contract – ‘Anxious wait’

The Telegraph have reported that Tottenham have offered Antonio Conte a £1 million-per-year pay rise in order to convince him to sign a new contract in North London.

Despite this, the Italian is said to be in ‘no rush’ to sign a new deal with the Lilywhites and Spurs now face an ‘anxious wait’ to see what their head coach will decide.

Conte still wants Tottenham to back up their ambition to win trophies, while he also wants his family in Italy to be taken into account.

This comes after The Athletic also reported this morning that some sources close to key figures at Tottenham are now less optimistic about the chances of Conte signing a new deal.

Daniel Levy has reportedly always been clear with the former Inter Milan manager that there is not a huge amount of money to spend in the upcoming window.

Conte’s wage was previously reported to be around £20 million per year, but Spurs are willing to increase that even further to keep him at Hotspur Way (Mirror).

Spurs Web Opinion:

I really don’t think it’s about the wage with Conte, especially given the money he is already on. His decision will be based on whether he thinks Spurs are giving him enough transfer budget to challenge for the Premier League, as well as any family decisions.
