Report explains how Tottenham are now the richest club in London – Above Chelsea and Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur are now the highest revenue-generating football club in London, and rank eighth in the world, according to new figures from Deloitte for the 2022/23 campaign.

It is now well-documented that Tottenham are a money-making machine. Say what you will about Daniel Levy‘s tenure as chairman, but he is a man who knows exactly how to get the best out of the club from a business point of view.

Since the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was opened in 2019, the economic success of the football club has grown exponentially, with the state-of-the-art venue delivering huge attendances as well as plenty of other commercial benefits.

With the venue hosting music concerts, NFL games, and boxing matches, the club’s revenue has soared in recent years. And now, with Financial Fair Play regulations becoming increasingly strict, it seems Spurs are in a strong position to continue operating without fear of punishment.

Spurs are a money-making machine

So, it will come as no surprise then, that the North London side has climbed the rankings to become the richest football club in London, based on figures from last season.

Spurs are listed as generating a revenue of £538.5m for the campaign, which puts the club eighth in the list of the most income for football clubs around the world.

Real Madrid took top spot (£708.8m), Manchester City were a close second (£703.7m), and PSG were some way behind in third (£683.8m).

Spanish giants, Barcelona, for all their reported financial issues, are fourth, with revenue of £682.4m, Manchester United are fifth with £635.5m, and Bayern Munich are sixth with £634.5m. Liverpool are roughly £106m off Bayern, with a revenue of £582.5m, but they still have Spurs beat by some distance.

While the accolade is unlikely to be sung from the terraces, Spurs can take heart in the fact they are now the richest club in London, eclipsing both Chelsea (£502.7m) and Arsenal (£454.2m), who round out the top ten.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would imagine that revenue will only continue to grow and I wouldn’t be surprised to see us climb this chart again next year. Now if that revenue can just be turned into transfer funds and get us the squad we need to succeed on the pitch, then we are really in business.
