AS have claimed that Harry Kane would be Carlo Ancelotti’s preferred option this summer as Real Madrid scour the market for a new number nine.
It was reported by Cadena Sar a couple of days ago that Harry Kane had been offered to Real Madrid through intermediaries and that the La Liga giants are contemplating whether or not to pursue the Tottenham man.
AS have now shed more light on the situation, explaining that Madrid are in the process of deciding whether to sign a relatively low-cost centre-forward or to push ahead with a ‘renowned’ player.
Should they opt for the latter, Kane is said the be the one who is ‘most’ liked by Ancelotti and his coaching staff.
The report states that the 29-year-old’s impressive record in the Premier League and in European competitions makes him ‘stand out’ from the other candidates and that the club are also convinced that he is someone who can hit the ground running at the Santiago Bernabeu.
In addition, Los Blancos are said to believe that the England captain can play alongside Karim Benzema if needed as the pair ‘complement’ one another.
However, it is suggested that the big ‘financial outlay’ that Daniel Levy would demand for Kane could be a stumbling block in the deal.
AS also add that Madrid are wary of potentially making any signing that would ‘compromise’ their chances of snapping up Erling Halland in the summer of 2024.
Spurs Web Opinion
If Kane does not sign a new contract, Tottenham would likely be more receptive to an offer from Real Madrid than they would to a bid from Manchester United.
However, I just cannot see the striker being open to leaving the Premier League without breaking Alan Shearer’s record.
