The Independent have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur want to finalise a managerial appointment within the next 10 to 14 days.
The latest such report came from The Evening Standard, who claimed this morning that Spurs are expected to make a move for the 57-year-old following Celtic’s Scottish Cup final on Saturday.
The outlet claimed that Daniel Levy has been impressed by the Australian and that Tottenham’s new director of football Scott Munn is also an admirer of Postecoglou.
The Independent have now also backed Spurs to make an approach for the Celtic boss after Saturday’s final, asserting that he has emerged as one of the leading candidates to replace Antonio Conte.
The report explains that the North London club hope to finalise an appointment within two weeks and are also considering other candidates including Roberto De Zerbi, Marco Silva and Graham Potter.
However, it is alleged that Postecoglou is seen as a better fit by the Lilywhites hierarchy.

The one thing that seems clear from Tottenham’s managerial shortlist is that the club are staying true to their word of prioritising attractive football, which is something that Postecoglou will certainly deliver.
However, it is far from clear if the Australian has the tactical nuances that would be required to implement that type of football in the Premier League when he would come up against the best teams and managers in the world.
Even someone like Beilsa, who has similar principles of play to the Australian, failed to deliver in the English top flight despite having a lot of experience.
