Report explains whether Daniel Levy will hire replacement for Paratici at Spurs

The Daily Mail have revealed that Daniel Levy is expected to appoint a new director of football to replace Fabio Paratic after the Italian’s appeal was rejected on Thursday.

Paratici had taken a leave of absence from his role at Tottenham after his two-and-a-half-year ban was extended to a worldwide one by FIFA last month.

It emerged yesterday that the Spurs managing director’s appeal against his ban to the Italian Olympic Committee was thrown out (Alasdair Gold), and Paratici resigned from his Tottenham post soon after.

The Mail have now revealed that the latest development puts a serious question mark over the 50-year-old’s long-term future in North London.

It is explained that Spurs’ performance director Gretar Steinsson and director of football administration and governance Rebecca Caplehorn have taken on Paratici’s responsibilities since he took a leave of absence.

However, the report asserts that rather than promoting someone from his existing staff, Levy will now look to replace Paratici with a newcomer.

The Mail claim that current sporting directors in England and in Europe have been alerted to the possibility of the Tottenham job opening up.

This must really be the final nail in the coffin for Paratici as Tottenham cannot afford to wait any longer, given the urgent issues that need to be addressed, including finding a new head coach and planning for the summer window.

This development would certainly have an impact on Tottenham’s managerial search as Paratici was seemingly the man who was entrusted with the task of finding a replacement for Conte.
