Report explains why La Liga giants would be open to selling Spurs target

TuttoMercatoWeb have claimed that Barcelona could offload Tottenham target Franck Kessie in the summer to make way for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Over the last week, reports linking Kessie with a summer move to Tottenham have intensified, with multiple Spanish publications talking up the possibility.

Fichajes.net were the first to report at the start of the week that the former AC Milan man could be in the shop window and that Tottenham are ‘the most interested club’ in the midfielder’s services.

The publication further suggested that the Lilywhites could start talks with the Catalan giants regarding the former AC Milan man over the coming days.

This was followed up by a report in Sport on Thursday, which suggested that Spurs are ‘very interested’ in Kessie, with Antonio Conte being a big fan of the midfielder.

However, the report added that Xavi Hernandez would only make a final decision on whether or not to sell the 26-year-old at the end of the season.

TMW’s latest update now comes as a boost for Tottenham, with the Italian publication explaining that Barca are in contact regarding a summer deal for Amrabat.

It is asserted that the La Liga club could offload Kessie and use the proceeds from his sale to sign the Fiorentina star.

The Italian outlet also states that Kessie himself could ask to be sold by Barca at the end of the season.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham will likely face plenty of competition from both the Premier League and the Serie A for Kessie’s services in the summer.

If Conte remains in charge of Spurs next season, I have no doubt that we will go after the Ivorian as he seems like a natural fit for the Italian’s system.
