Tottenham Hotspur have put their name into the FA Cup fifth round draw, but not in the way they would have liked.
Just as they did with the fourth round draw, Spurs secured a 1-1 draw against Southampton today to force a replay, thus keeping themselves in the competition for now.
Spurs and Southampton will have to go head to head again at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after the Saints equalised late on at St Mary’s.
Tottenham had taken the lead through Heung Min Son on the hour mark, but sank deeper and deeper in the last 30 minutes before the pressure finally paid.
The Lilywhites wasted a number of great chances in the first half that could have put them out of sight, while the Saints knocked on the door in the second 45.
The FA Cup fifth round draw is scheduled for Monday 27 January and will be shown live on BBC One on The One Show at 7:19 pm.
Spurs and Southampton are listed as ball number three for the draw.
As it stands, the other balls are:
1 Tranmere Rovers or Manchester United
