Report: Fabio Paratici contacts Serie A club over Italian who has impressed at Euro 2020

Tottenham Hotspur’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici has made contact with Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali for Manuel Locatelli, according to Italian journalist Marcello Chirico.

Chirco took to Twitter to claim that Paratici tried for two years to try and bring the midfielder to Juventus but was unsuccessful in his attempt.

He has already made contact with his ‘friend’ Carnevali over the prospect of him moving to North London, but the player’s preference is to join Juventus.

Locatelli has been in impressive form for Italy during their opening two Euro 2020 matches which saw him score a brace in their last outing against Switzerland.

He opened the scoring in the first half with a goal he created himself and bagged his second when he powered into the corner of the net from 22 yards early in the second half.

Spurs’ North London rivals Arsenal are also said to be interested in the 23-year-old but has insisted that he is focused on Italy’s involvement in the European competition (Mirror).
