Report: Fabio Paratici could give Spurs advantage over Chelsea and Man City for midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur’s appointment of Fabio Paratici as their new managing director of football may have given them an insight into a potential move for Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli.

The Gazzetta Dello Sport have claimed that Paratici ‘knows the dynamics of a potential deal’ which would see Spurs be able to fend off both Manchester City and Chelsea with their interest.

Juventus are reported to be front-runners to land the 23-year-old, who is currently on international duty with Italy at Euro 2020.

The Serie A giants have not tied up a deal for Locatelli and there is now the prospect of other clubs across Europe stepping up their interest with Paratici said to be ‘involved in the matter’ and could ‘raise the bid’ for the North Londoners.

Locatelli is reportedly calm over his future and while he would prefer a move to Juventus, is open to the prospect of a move abroad.

The midfielder scored four goals and registered three assists in Serie A last season, helping his side to an eighth-placed finish in the league (transfermarkt).
