Report: Fabio Paratici is pushing for Tottenham to sign Brazilian midfielder

A new report out of Italy has shed some light on Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in signing Atalanta midfielder Ederson, and it seems Fabio Paratici is at the heart of the story once more.

It is no secret that Spurs are in the market for a new central midfielder, with Ange Postecoglou keen to upgrade his options in the number 8 role, and ideally this month.

One of the rumoured targets for the role is Atalanta midfielder, Ederson, with Tottenham thought to be ‘one of many’ clubs sending scouts to watch the Brazilian star in action of late (GiveMeSport).

Whether that transfer is to occur during the January transfer window, or in the summer, if at all, remains to be seen. But one thing seems certain now, thanks to the latest report from Corriere della Sera, which is that Fabio Paratici is pulling the strings when it comes to Spurs‘ interest in the player.

The report claims Paratici is “setting his sights” on acquiring Ederson for the North London club, and it is suggested the Italian’s influence is still very much felt at Tottenham despite his ban from footballing operations.

According to the report, Paratici’s “signature” has been, figuratively speaking, on “several purchases” for Tottenham of late, including Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Radu Dragusin, and James Maddison.

It is said Paratici remains a “listened to voice” when it comes to Daniel Levy, and it is like he “almost never left” despite resigning last April.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs fans are under no illusions that Fabio Paratici is still totally involved in the transfer operations at the club, and to be honest, as long as it’s not breaking any rules, long may it continue. He has a real knack for identifying top talent and helping get negotiations over the line, so we’d be foolish not to use him.
