Report: Fabio Paratici ‘ready to close’ deal to bring midfielder to Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur managing director of football, Fabio Paratici is ‘ready to close’ a deal to bring Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez to North London, according to Calcio Napoli 24.

Sky Sports claimed in August that Spurs had made an approach to the Serie A club for the 25-year-old who had handed in a transfer request earlier in the summer following interest from fellow Italian outfit Inter Milan.

His agent Pablo Bentancur has previously claimed that the Uruguayan international is free to leave in the New Year, stressing that Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini will do everything in his power to make a move happen (Calcio Napoli 24).

Nandez has played 74 Serie A games for the Italian side and gone on to win 41 senior caps for Uruguay, featuring at this summer’s Copa America (transfermarkt).

Nandez can operate in central midfield or on the right, including right wing-back who would provide plenty of versatility for Nuno and at 25, he has the opportunity to become a key figure in the Spurs side ahead of the likes of Harry Winks.
