Report: Fabio Paratici wants to bring Juventus midfielder to Spurs

According to a report from Calcio Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie this summer.

Juventus initially signed McKennie on loan from Schalke last summer before making the deal permanent in March for £16m.

The central midfielder made a fabulous impression in his first season at the Allianz Stadium even though the campaign as a whole was one to forget for the Serie A giants, who just about squeezed into the top four.

The USA international was previously linked with a move to Spurs last summer, as well as in the build-up to the January transfer window before Juve made his loan deal permanent.

Calcio Mercato now claim that the Old Lady could cash in on McKennie this summer if they receive the right offer.

The report reveals that Tottenham are at the front of the queue for the 22-year-old’s signature, with Fabio Paratici keen on bringing him to North London.

Spurs Web Opinion

McKennie’s versatility would make him a superb acquisition for us as he can potentially cover at central midfield, right-back or centre-back – three positions that we are desperately in need of strengthening this summer.

His attributes would also make him a natural fit for the Premier League but I suspect we would have to break the bank in order to sign him on the back of his impressive first season in Serie A.
