Report: Fabio Paratici’s ‘dream’ defender has two red cards in 11 games this season

Wolfsburg central defender, Maxence Lacroix, has now picked up two red cards in just 11 Bundesliga matches so far this season.

This is far from an impressive disciplinary record for a defender, even though Lacroix is only 21-years-old and still a very raw talent.

Eurosport reported earlier this year that Tottenham had enquired about the availability of the Wolfsburg starlet. Sky Germany even claimed Fabio Paratici saw him as a ‘dream’ signing and had tried to scoop him up during his Juventus days.

However, a move for the French defender could be worth a second thought after his record so far this season. Not only has Lacroix picked up two red cards, but he has also conceded three penalties.

Antonio Conte has switched to a back three in North London and the Italian has apparently asked the club to sign two new central defenders in January (according to Ducan Castles via Transfer Window Podcast).

Spurs Web Opinion:

This is an awful record and it would likely only be worse in the faster pace of the Premier League. However, Cristian Romero also walks a tightrope and is still a class defender. If Spurs can get Lacroix for cheap, he may be worth a gamble. But it would be a gamble.
