Report: Fabio Paratici’s ‘great influence’ could help Spurs land star player this summer

Inter Live have claimed that Fabio Paratici is the driving force behind Tottenham’s interest in Albert Gudmundsson and suggested that the Lilywhites are currently in pole position to secure the Genoa star.

Over the last few weeks, Spurs Web has relayed a number of updates on Tottenham’s rumoured pursuit of Gudmundsson and the latest one from Inter Live backs up what we have heard from a few other outlets.

The report primarily covers Nerazzurri’s interest in the 26-year-old but it is made clear that it is Ange Postecoglou’s men who are closer to the signing.

Fabio Paratici could help Spurs land Gudmundsson

The publication reveals that the Premier League side are in ‘pole position’ and can use the help of Fabio Paratici to complete the deal, with the former Spurs director of football said to still hold ‘great influence’ at the club.

The report further highlights that Gudmundsson is represented by the same agency as Radu Dragusin, which might aid Tottenham’s pursuit of the forward.

However, it is asserted that Inter have still not given up hope of signing the player while Juventus also remain on his trail. It is asserted that Genoa are expected to demand a fee of around €35m to €40m (£30m-£34.2m) for their star man this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham are clearly in the driver’s seat in the race for Gudmundsson, given their financial muscle as well as the relationship they have forged with Genoa. They also have a bargaining chip in the form of Djed Spence, which is why the Lilywhites would be relatively confident of winning the race for the 26-year-old.
