Report: ‘Farewell is certain’ for Spurs star in the summer as Serie A side circle

Il Bianconero have now said that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is guaranteed to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the summer if Ange Postecoglou remains at the club next season.

It perhaps came as a surprise to many Spurs fans that Hojbjerg remained put at the club during last month’s transfer window.

In the days following the closure of the window, it has emerged that the Tottenham man very much remains on Juventus’ radar.

This information was carried a couple of days ago by Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia), who backed the Old Lady to reignite their interest in the Dane next summer.

The outlet explained that the Serie A giants had identified the Spurs star as a target to replace Adrien Rabiot, who is yet to renew his current deal at the Turin club.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is certain to leave Spurs

Il Bianconero have now also reported on Juve’s interest in Hojbjerg, pointing out that the experienced Tottenham star remains an option for the club, who wish to rebuild their midfield next summer.

The outlet adds that a ‘farewell is certain’ for the former Southampton man ‘if Postecoglou stays’, which appears fairly certain at this point.

However, it is explained that Juve moving for Hojbjerg is not a forgone conclusion and will very much ‘depend on the price’ that Spurs demand for the 28-year-old.

Spurs Web Opinion

I expect both Hojbjerg and Skipp to leave Tottenham at the end of the season as neither appears to be particularly well suited to Postecoglou’s system.

Since the Dane will only have a year left on his deal next summer, Spurs will drop their asking price substantially and I expect a few Italian clubs to queue up for his signature.
