Report: Fenerbahce want to sign this Spurs midfielder before new season

Tottenham Hotspur smashed their transfer record a few weeks ago to sign Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele (BBC) and it appears that there are likely to be more players coming through the door before the end of the transfer window.

A report in the Daily Mirror claims that Spurs are set to complete the signings of Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon this week for a combined total of around £80m.

However, the report also suggests that Spurs are keen on moving some players on with midfielder Victor Wanyama being one of them. The Kenyan international is reportedly attracting interest from Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

The 28-year-old was also previously linked with a move to Tottenham’s London rivals West Ham (CaughtOffside).

However, speaking to ESPN a few days ago, the hard-tackling midfielder dismissed suggestions that he is leaving the club this summer and asserted that he intends to honour his contract with Spurs.

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no doubt that a fit and firing Wanyama will be a huge asset for the squad but based on his injury record during his time in North London, the prospect of him staying fit through the whole season looks bleak. We at Spurs Web think the Kenyan is the most likely midfielder to be sold by the club this summer
