Report: Ferdinand says Championship starlet linked with Spurs could get future England call-up

Tottenham Hotspur legend, Les Ferdinand, has claimed that Queens Park Rangers’ Eberechi Eze is good enough to play for England.

Eze has developed into an outstanding talent over the last few years, establishing himself as an important part of the QPR side.

The youngster, who has managed an impressive 12 goals and eight assists in the Championship this season (transfermarkt), has been linked with a summer move to Spurs (The Sun). It is claimed that QPR are demanding around £20 million for the 21-year-old.

Ferdinand, who serves as QPR’s director of football, has previously admitted that the club may have no choice but to let Eze go if someone meets their asking price for him in the summer (Beautiful Game Podcast via The Standard).

The former England striker has now claimed the QPR attacking midfielder could even be in the frame for an England call up in the future.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Ferdinand said: “A lot of the time you need to be in the Premier League to be recognised but he has shown the kind of form and, if he continues to develop in the way he is developing and keeps showing the type of football he has been playing, he is certainly going to put himself in the frame.”
