German publication Fussball Transfers have revealed that Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga is attracting plenty of interest from Bundesliga clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
It has been another campaign to forget for Japhet Tanganga, who has made just four Premier League appearances across 2022-23 (Transermarkt).
Despite his lack of game time in North London, it turns out that interest in the 24-year-old’s services is mounting ahead of the summer.
Fussball Transfers claim that Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen, Union Berlin, VfB Stuttgart and Hamburg have all asked for information about the Tottenham defender.
It is suggested that Union Berlin might be the most attractive destination for Tanganga, particularly if they qualify for the Champions League.
The report adds that the Lilywhites value the defender at around €13.8m (£12m) and explains a move to Germany is not a priority for the Spurs academy graduate since ‘numerous’ Premier League clubs are also keen on snapping him up.
Spurs Web Opinion
Tanganga is one of several players who was criminally underused by Conte. I believe that the 24-year-old has the attributes to thrive in the right centre-back role.
While critics will say he has not taken the opportunities that have come his way, I would argue that he needs a run of starts to show to build up his confidence and show what he can do.
Tanganga is a player I can see blossoming under a coach who is willing to trust him but it seems increasingly likely that it is going to happen away from Spurs.
