Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Ange Postecoglou will consider various options both internally and externally as he searches for a replacement for Chris Davies.

Davies has left his position as Tottenham’s senior assistant coach to take over as the manager of League One side Birmingham City ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
Gold says that the 39-year-old’s exit would not come as a shock to Postecoglou as he had been in demand in the game, with Swansea previously making an approach for his services.
Gold says that Postecoglou might have even been anticipating a departure and he will now look at all the options closely as he has around two weeks to make an appointment before the staff start returning to Hotspur Way for pre-season.
External and internal candidates will be considered to replace Davies
Gold points out that despite the various titles given to Postecoglou’s staff, there is not too much of a hierarchy within the set-up, with the Australian happy to let his coaches share the load in training sessions.
The 58-year-old is now expected to examine all the candidates currently on the market and he will prioritise a coach who shares a similar footballing philosophy and someone who is a good communicator.
Gold explains that Postecoglou is usually not one to go back to a former coach he has worked with but he might consider doing that at Spurs, with his former Celtic assistants John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan being potential candidates.
He reveals that Postecoglou’s former assistant at Yokohama Marinos, Peter Cklamovski, who is currently in charge of FC Tokyo, may even be considered for the role.

Could Ryan Mason become the Spurs assistant coach?
Finally, the journalist adds that the Tottenham head coach might also consider promoting one of Matt Wells or Ryan Mason to the senior assistant coach role.
Spurs Web Opinion
I personally think the most likely scenario is for one of Wells or Mason to be promoted while another young coach is brought into the squad to take the role that one of them would have vacated.
It looks as if Mile Jedinak could be set to stay in his existing role, with the players set to report back for pre-season on July 1st, time is soon to be against Tottenham in making the appointment.
