Report: Five PL clubs including Spurs keeping tabs on 23-year-old defender

Tottenham are among a host of clubs in the Premier League that are reportedly monitoring Vitoria Guimaraes defender, Abdul Mumin.

According to Portuguese outlet A Bola (via Sport Witness), the 23-year-old centre-back’s performances in Portugal’s top tier have captured the attention of a number of sides in English.

The report claims Tottenham are alongside the likes of Leicester City, Aston Villa and Newcastle United who have allegedly scouted Mumin.

However, it notes that Crystal Palace have been the latest side to send an official to Portugal to gain a better understanding of the player ahead of a potential move.

Mumin joined Vitoria in August last year from Danish outfit Nordsjaelland and has become one of the club’s key figures in the Liga Portugal.

He made 25 league appearances for the Portuguese side last season, while he has featured in six of their opening eight games in the current campaign.

Mumin seems to be doing well over in Portugal and there is a reason why a number of Premier League sides are looking to acquire him.

Unless Spurs are planning to offload one of their centre-backs, there doesn’t appear to be much room for a young defender like him as of now.
